Toronto MC Drake continues to keep his buzz going as he was recently in Brooklyn filming the video for his hit single, “Best I Ever Had.”An inside source confirmed with XXLMag.com that Drizzy’s self-described biggest musical influence, Kanye West, is directing the clip. And the all-star cast doesn’t end there. Among cameos from mentor Lil Wayne, Common, Fabolous, Trey Songz and his Young Money crew mates, the video may also have an appearance from Jay-Z. Apparently Hov -who as previously reported, has already recorded material with the aspiring rapper - was on set during the shoot.The video will have a Degrassi theme according to the inside source. Drake starred on the popular N series before pursuing his career in music. A rough draft for the video is expected to be finished in two weeks.

After the Los Angeles Lakers won the 2009 NBA Championship last night in Orlando, riots broke near Staples Center. A shoe store called The Holy Grail was looted (robbed) during these riots. The saddest part of this specific story is that the shoe store stocks sneakers though consignment; meaning the real victims of this crime will likely be the individual consignees who (depending on insurance policies) may be burned for a knot of cash. Former Dipset Affiliate Max B Found Guilty Of Manslaughter

Rapper is found guilty of nine of the 11 counts he faced, stemming from a 2006 robbery.

According to the rapper's attorney, Gerald Saluti, Max B (born Charles Wingate) was found guilty on nine of the 11 counts he was facing. The charges stem from a theft that involved the rapper, Kelvin Leerdam and Max's former girlfriend Gina Conway. Conway eventually turned state's evidence against the men.
Max B was accused of leading the trio to steal upward of $30,000 from two men. The incident went awry, however, when Leerdam allegedly shot one of the men.

Apparently there’s about $2 mill being tossed around to make a bid on signing Drake–Universal (the likeliest candidate since it’s the home of Lil Wayne’s Young Money label that Drake is affiliated with).

According to reports, the currently unsigned Toronto native is at the center of "one of the biggest bidding wars ever." Warner Music label head Lyor Cohen's attendance at Drake's recent New York performance also fueled rumors that they are looking to sign him to Atlantic records. Word on the street is there is another unnamed label itching to get the rapper to sign on the dotted line. "Just know that whatever label we sign to it'll be because they'll add to what we've created on our own," Drake said.

Jay-Z’s Blueprint 3 Goes To Atlantic, Roc Nation Goes To Sony

Jay-z doing big things once again, signed to two different labels?

MTV News has confirmed that Jay’s new album, The Blueprint 3, will be coming out on the 8th anniversary of his original multi-platinum selling Blueprint. Rumored to hit shelves on September 11, the disc will be distributed by Atlantic Records, which falls under his past partners Lyor Cohen and Kevin Liles’ Waner Music Group company.

At the same time HitsDailyDouble reports that, while the deal has not officially been announced yet, Hov has decided to bring his Live Nation label, Roc Nation, to Sony.
